Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing www.gumiworks.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our Delivery & Refund Policy. These terms apply to all visitors and customers of GumiWorks.

2. Product Characteristics & Disclaimers

2.1. Concrete Material Variations:

Our concrete products are handcrafted. You acknowledge that variations in color, texture, and finish—including “crazing” (fine surface lines), tonal mottling, and minor air voids—are inherent characteristics of concrete. These variations are a natural result of the curing process and the handmade nature of the craft; they are not considered manufacturing defects.

2.2. General Craftsmanship: While we craft with wood, metal, and other materials, slight variations may occur between pieces. These unique details are part of the charm of handmade furniture.

2.3. Custom Specifications: For Made-to-Order (MTO) items, specifications are confirmed during the quoting process. Once a quote is approved and production begins, any requested changes may incur additional fees.

2.4. Safety & Use: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that products are used safely and as intended. GumiWorks is not liable for injuries or damages resulting from the misuse of our products.

3. Ordering and Payment

3.1. Contract: A contract is formed once GumiWorks issues an order confirmation and payment is received. Customers must be at least 18 years old.

3.2. Payment: For bespoke orders, production begins only after the agreed payment or deposit has cleared. All transactions are processed through secure, encrypted methods.

4. Shipping, Delivery & Installation

4.1. Logistics: We provide UK Mainland delivery and international shipping (available via bespoke inquiry). International orders include professional crating to ensure safe transit.

4.2. Responsibility for Damage (Risk): * For Pallet Deliveries: Responsibility for the item passes to you the moment it is unloaded at your property (kerbside).

  • For GumiWorks Installations: Responsibility for the item passes to you as soon as the installation is complete and the Handover Form is signed.

4.3. Site Access & Readiness: For items requiring installation, the customer must ensure the site is level, clear, and accessible. If we cannot complete an installation due to site unreadiness or restricted access not previously disclosed, a revisit fee will be charged.

5. Cancellations and Returns

5.1. Bespoke/MTO Items: As these are made to your specific requirements, they are exempt from standard return policies. You have a 48-hour grace period from the time of order to cancel for a full refund.

5.2. Ready-to-Buy (RTB) Items: Standard items may be returned within 14 days of receipt. The customer is responsible for the cost and safe return of the item in its original condition.

6. Limitation of Liability

6.1. Indirect Losses: GumiWorks is not responsible for any indirect or “consequential” costs—such as fees for third-party tradespeople (plumbers, electricians, or builders)—resulting from delivery delays or product defects. We strongly advise booking trades only after your item has been delivered and inspected.

6.2. Third-Party Links: We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party websites linked on our site.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including designs, images, and product descriptions, is the property of GumiWorks and is protected by copyright. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.

8. Amendments & Governing Law

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
