  • * Hand-cast in our London workshop, tailored to each batch.
  • * 20 custom colours available in our standard collection.
  • * Sealed with a professional-grade, stain-resistant penetrating sealer.

The countertop concrete basin is cast as a self-contained vessel — softened rectangular form, slim walls, and a refined rim profile designed to sit on a vanity shelf, concrete worktop, or bespoke surface without additional framing or carcass. Hand-cast in Ultra-High Performance Concrete, the basin achieves a precise wall thickness and tight corner radius that positions it distinctly from heavier aggregate concrete alternatives. The mineral surface reads differently at every light angle, carrying the natural variation and quiet depth that distinguishes hand-cast concrete from ceramic or resin.

Suited to Japandi, Soft Modern, and Organic Modern bathrooms where the basin itself is the material focal point. It pairs equally well with a bespoke concrete vanity shelf, a natural stone worktop, or a simple wall-mounted timber ledge.  Available in any of 20 curated pigmented colours. Alternatively, bespoke concrete finishes like; polished terrazzo, hand-packed marble-effect, or a custom colour brief can be specified -Please get in touch to enquire.

Each basin is made to order in our London workshop. Surfaces are hand-finished and sealed with a professional-grade, penetrating sealer that protects against moisture and daily wear while preserving the organic character of the concrete.

Please note: This product includes the concrete basin only. Taps, waste fittings, counter, or plumbing accessories are not included.

Maintain the premium surface of your luxury concrete basin with simple daily upkeep practices:

  • Clean regularly using warm water, a soft microfibre cloth, and a gentle pH-neutral liquid soap.
  • Never utilise bleach-based bathroom cleansers, heavy chemical descalers, citrus-based solvents, or abrasive scouring pads, which will chemically degrade the protective topical sealing layer.
  • Wipe away heavily pigmented spills or highly acidic compounds (such as hair dyes, nail polish removers, or harsh facial acids) immediately to eliminate surface staining vectors.

How do I prevent stains from soap, toothpaste, or cosmetics on a concrete basin?

Our basins are protected by a high-performance, stain-resistant penetrating sealer in a refined matte finish. Engineered specifically for architectural wet zones, it creates a hydrophobic barrier against daily bathroom elements. For daily care, simply rinse the bowl after use and wipe away standing water. Avoid leaving heavily pigmented liquids like hair dyes, facial acids, or harsh chemical cosmetics on the surface.

How heavy are the concrete basins, and what installation supports do they require?

A standard Gumi Works concrete basin weighs approximately 15-20 kg. For countertop installations, verify that your vanity unit or floating console is structurally rated to carry this weight profile. For wall-mounted installations, the basin must be anchored securely into timber stud noggins or masonry structures using heavy-duty steel brackets before wall cladding. Standard hollow-wall or plasterboard fixings are not suitable.

What is the difference between a solid concrete basin and microcement or resin alternatives?

Every Gumi Works basin is hand-cast from authentic, solid ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). Many “concrete” sinks on the market are actually lightweight plastic resin imitations or cheap wood templates covered in a thin, fragile “concrete effect” microcement coating that easily cracks and delaminates. Our solid-cast construction ensures true architectural integrity, a deeply tactile raw stone feel, and an exceptional structural lifespan.

What type of waste kit and plumbing connections do I need to source?

Our basins are designed with clean, minimalist lines and do not feature an integrated overflow hole. You will need to source a standard 45mm unslotted waste assembly. Standard UK and European plumbing traps connect seamlessly to our integrated drain geometries.

Are the basins supplied with pre-drilled tap holes?

Our standard Ready-to-Buy (RTB) collection models are supplied without tap holes. This leaves them optimized for elegant wall-mounted faucets or deck-mounted taps installed directly onto your vanity countertop surface. If your project layout requires a faucet hole drilled directly into the concrete rim, please contact our studio before ordering to arrange a custom casting profile.

How do I remove limescale without damaging the concrete sealer?

Because authentic concrete is an alkaline stone, harsh chemical descalers, bleach, or citrus-based solvents will chemically degrade the protective sealing layer. To combat hard water and limescale safely, use a diluted solution of mild pH-neutral liquid soap and a soft microfibre cloth. Wiping the bowl dry after use is the most effective way to eliminate mineral scale buildup in hard water zones.

Can a Gumi Works concrete basin be used in an outdoor kitchen or garden terrace?

Yes. Our advanced structural mix design incorporates UV-stable mineral pigments and frost-resistant curing protocols. A Gumi Works basin functions beautifully in luxury indoor bathrooms or can transition seamlessly into an outdoor kitchen, pool house, or architectural alfresco terrace.

What is the typical lead time for a basin order?

All our product orders are Made-to-Order fabrications. Our comprehensive hand-casting, finishing, and multi-stage sealing process takes approximately 3-6 weeks to complete before dispatch.

Can I order a custom size, double vanity layout, or commercial wash trough?

Absolutely. Beyond our standard retail stock, we specialize in bespoke architectural design and casting for premium residential and commercial projects. To ensure total clarity before we pour, we can translate your initial spatial layouts or sketches into detailed 3D CAD renders. This allows you to visualize the exact geometry, scale, and color fusion of your custom washbasin within your space before production begins at our studio.</p.
