All made-to-order pieces are delivered and installed by the Gumi Works team where applicable. How do I prevent stains from wine, oil, or water on a concrete table?

To protect the surface, we use a high-performance, food-safe penetrative sealer. Unlike topical plastic coatings that can peel or scratch, our finish works from within the material. For daily maintenance, simply wipe spills immediately with a damp cloth and use pH-neutral soap.

Is a concrete dining table too heavy for a standard apartment floor?

No. By using Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC), we can create thinner, more sculptural forms that provide immense strength without the excessive weight of traditional solid-cast concrete. Our tables are engineered to be compatible with standard residential and commercial flooring.

While stone slabs are beautiful, they are limited to flat or basic shapes. Is the sealer food-safe and non-toxic?

Yes. Health and safety are paramount in our North London studio. We use VOC-free, non-toxic, and certified food-safe sealers on all our dining surfaces, ensuring a safe environment for your family and guests.

Can this be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. Our pigments are UV-stable and our UHPC mix is weather-resistant. The Monolith can transition seamlessly from a modern dining room to an architectural terrace.

What is the typical lead time?

As each piece is handcrafted in our North London studio, lead times typically range from 6–8 weeks. This allows for the precise casting and necessary curing time required for artisan concrete.
